This week, the very controversial seal hunt begins again in Canada. We don’t need to make trinkets and fur trims- it’s so horrible to think that more than 275,000 baby harp seals will be slaughtered, shot and clubbed to death while their skins are ripped off from their bodies. Each year, the outrage grows exponetially all over the world and one day this will stop. Please spread the word and make a donation and help in the fight to end this unnecessary cruelty. Help pass the Harb Seal Bill here - For the first time in history, a Canadian politician is proposing a law to end the suffering of baby seals. Senator Harb consulted with International Fund For Animals on this critical legislation and with our help to reach 200,000 emails and letters in the next few weeks, this is our chance to end the hunt forever.
This year marks a significant chapter in American history, as President Obama takes over our country, we hope that he will bring positive change in so many critical issues we are facing today. On my wishlist, of course, is global warming and its impact on our environment and the wildlife that live within. It will not be an easy feat, however, I am hopeful. This year, I will continue to fulfill my duty to bring the most pressing issues about animals, both local and international to my blog. I’d like to do my part in bringing more awareness about animal cruelty to the world.

Each year, hundreds of thousands of baby harp seals are slaughtered on the ice fields off Canada’s east coast for their pelts. Over 95% of the seals killed during this hunt are just days or weeks old.

Hello friends! I’ve been meaning to do this for a long time—discuss and post animal welfare issues and giving it a candid, honest and personal perspective. There are many ways to give back and help and this is my approach. With the Canadian Seal Hunt as my first post, I invite you to check back often. I promise I will bring to light the more relevant animal issues as much as I can. If you care, kudos to you. If you don’t (which I doubt any good and normal human being would), try to do good elsewhere for the world. I know there are many important issues out there. This happens to be near and dear to my heart. I am just getting started but bare with me as I gain momentum in hunting for serious subjects.
